A modern market celebrating rural roots. That’s what you will find on June 22nd in Grandview, IA. R7 Reclaimed will be hosting the 3rd annual Farm Life Festival featuring shopping in the barn, vendor shopping, music, food, fun and maybe even a few farm animals too. Open 9am-3pm. Admission $3. Kids 14 and under are free. (337 Cemetery Lane, Grandview IA)
The simple thought of farm life stirs up different images for each of us. Some picture rolling hills and white farmhouses that roll by on long road trips. Others have vivid, yet distant memories of hard labor in dirty jeans. For all of us, though, our visions of farm life are special. They represent an era, a place, a dream, or simply a feeling.
How does one capture that feeling? Photos, stories or even a hands-on experience all make attempts to embrace farm life. Even if you’ve never been up before the sun to feed a hungry animal or safely deliver a baby, there’s a special sort of magic in farm life that we all recognize.
Farm Life Festival attempts to capture a simple bit of that feeling. Photos on the tractor, sipping fresh lemonade, petting farm animals — all while shopping makers and creatives that inspire us to surround ourselves with beautiful simplicity. Live music and delicious food centered around a beautifully reclaimed big red barn brings people from all over to relax and enjoy the countryside just outside a tiny town of 300 people in southeast Iowa.
